Laurie McFarland was raised in the Denver, Colorado area, although most of her family lives within forty miles of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Laurie attended Colorado State University and then went to law school in Costa Mesa, California, where she graduated from Whittier Law School. Laurie then returned to Denver and married her childhood friend, Jared.
Jared’s career as a nuclear scientist took off, and they moved to the Albuquerque area for his work with Los Alamos National Laboratory. Laurie continues to update her legal education through Mediation classes at the University of New Mexico and the National Business Institute.
Laurie has worked in various areas of law including: Wills & Trusts, Family Law, Insurance Defense, Corporate Formation and SEC paperwork. Laurie worked as a criminal prosecutor both in the 13th Judicial District of Colorado and in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. Laurie maintains her attorney licenses to practice law in Colorado and New Mexico State courts.
